Pet Travel Paperwork in Thailand: The Health Records Checklist (2026)

Why Pet Travel Records Matter More Than the Crate

Most pet transport problems we see are not about the vehicle. They are about paperwork that was not kept. A domestic flight within Thailand wants to see a vaccination record at check-in. An international move needs a health certificate from a licensed vet, and the vet will ask when the last rabies shot was given. If the answer is "sometime last year, I think", the trip gets complicated fast.

What You Should Have on File

  • Vaccination record — especially rabies, with the date of the last shot. Airlines in Thailand ask for this on domestic flights, and it is the baseline for any export paperwork.
  • Deworming and flea/tick treatment dates — some airlines and most vets want the last treatment date, not just "done recently".
  • Weight history — airline crates are sized by weight and height. A weight recorded two years ago is close to useless for a growing dog.
  • Recent vet visits and treatments — if your pet had an illness in the past months, the treating vet's notes make the health certificate conversation much faster.
  • Feeding and medication notes — useful when a flight means an unusual routine, and required detail if your pet travels with daily medication.

Where These Records Usually Live (and Why That Fails)

The paper vaccination booklet from the first clinic. A photo of it somewhere in the camera roll. A LINE message from a friend who watched the dog once. The information exists, but it is scattered, and the moment a vet, an airline agent, or a customs officer asks a direct question, scattered becomes stressful.

A Free Tool Our Team Built

Our team also runs a web-software studio, and after one too many airport-morning record hunts, we built a free pet health tracker called PetHealth. It runs in the browser — nothing to install, no account needed — and it keeps vaccines, weight history, medications, feeding notes, and treatment costs in one place on your phone: pedpro.online/pet-health.

We use the same discipline on rides: when the driver arrives and the paperwork is already in your pocket, the whole day goes smoother. The vet gets answers in seconds, the airline check-in is one glance instead of a search through your photos.

Before the Next Trip

Whether you use an app, a notebook, or a folder of photos: make sure the rabies date, the last flea/tick treatment, and a recent weight are findable in under a minute. If they are, you are ready for a vet visit, a domestic flight, or the start of an international move — and our team handles the ride part, crate-friendly and on time.
